Why A Simple Logo Is The Best Choice For Your Brand

There will be several things that require your full attention as a brand owner. Choosing an appropriate name for your company, ensuring that your website is of high quality, and branding your company are just a few of the things you will need to consider carefully.

Aside from these, creating a suitable logo is another aspect of your organization that you must carefully consider. A well-designed logo will add significant value to the organization, but creating one is no easy task. Your efforts may be in naught unless you can come up with an utterly distinctive and authentic logo.

That being stated, let’s take a look at some of the most prevalent reasons why you should create an original logo that isn’t too complicated or overbearing. Pay attention, take notes, and discover how you, too, can create a fantastic logo for your company or brand.

Table of Contents

  • A simple logo is easy to recognize
  • Emotional reaction
  • Memorability
  • Attractiveness
  • Relevance to the industry
  • Simple to remember
  • Unambiguous

A simple logo is easy to recognize

One of the best things about having a basic logo is that the simpler it is, the easier it is for people to recognize it. The reason for this is that we recall almost everything we see during our lives, but the majority of it is buried deep within our subconscious.

This means that your logo must be recognized by people’s subconscious minds before their conscious minds can put two and two together. You’ll need to blend science and art to do this. Because we are exposed to so many information pieces on a daily basis, every brand should attempt to build something that will stand out more in that throng of information pieces.

Emotional reaction

Next, in addition to being immediately recognizable, your trademark should elicit an emotional response in the viewer. Simple logos have an advantage over more complex ones in that the brain can comprehend them much faster and more efficiently, and once the brain processes something, emotions often take over.

As a result, the easier your logo is to absorb and elicit an emotional response, the more likely people are to recall and recognize it the next time they see it. Not only that but the more time your brain spends processing information, the less time it has for emotional processing.

Memorability

Then there’s memorability. Every logo is designed to help the person who sees it automatically recall the product or service that is represented by the logo. Coca-Cola and McDonald’s are the best examples we can give. When you see the enormous yellow M or the renowned red field with a slightly wavy white stripe, it brings back memories of your favorite dinner and the incomparable taste of this oh-so-refreshing drink. As a result, the goal is to make your logo distinctive while also connecting it to your product or service, which should entice your audience to return for more.

Attractiveness

Of course, you want your logo to be aesthetically pleasing and pleasing to the eye when you create it. You’ll need to think about a lot more than simply a color scheme here. Font, lower- or upper-case letters, and the design of the letters – if your logo includes them – are all crucial considerations.

Great ASP, for example, chose a simple, straightforward logo that is simple to read and understand. This sort of logo has been proven to be the most effective time and time again, which is why more and more businesses are opting for it. Simply told, there is very little room for error if your logo is also your brand’s name.

Relevance to the industry

While all of the aforementioned factors of designing a logo are critical, you must also ensure that you stay within your sector. If you own a computer software company, for example, putting a graphic portrayal of an animal paw in the design would be pointless, no matter how much you love animals. Something along the lines of a computer mouse or a simplified representation of the computer would be significantly more appropriate.

Simple to remember

As previously stated, the more basic your logo is, the easier it is for people to remember what it signifies and stands for. People’s minds immediately go to the WWF and everything they do to make our earth a better place to live when they see that black and white panda emblem. Some people, on the other hand, believe that they can just download a free stock logo image, add some text to it, and use it as their logo. If you’re thinking the same thing, consider how many other individuals have used that image before you. Simply said, if you and your company want to be taken seriously by nearly anyone, don’t do this.

Unambiguous

Finally, you must ensure that your logo is exclusively utilized by your firm and no one else in order to avoid audience confusion. Apart from that, your logo must convey a clear picture of who you are and what you stand for. However, in order to do this, your brand and logo must be inextricably linked. To return to the scenario of McDonald’s and its emblem, a person who has never had a Big Mac or a Happy Meal would have no idea what that large yellow M means.

While you should certainly strive to make your logo as simple and memorable as possible, you should also ensure that it expresses the same message as your company. The most important thing to remember is that your logo is the face of your company, and it is one of the most significant elements in making your company instantly recognized by your target audience.
